Python Developer - Automated Trading Systems

We are a trading technology company building automated systems that detect price inefficiencies across betting exchanges and bookmakers.

You will be one of two developers building and maintaining our bot infrastructure. You will work directly with the founder, receiving clear strategy specifications, and you will build the systems that execute them.
This is backend automation, API integration, real-time data processing, and systems work. Not web development or app building.

What You Will Build
• Python bots interacting with the Betfair Exchange API (REST + Streaming)
• Real-time odds scraping and parsing from bookmaker comparison sites
• Scheduling and timing logic — bots must fire at precise windows before events
• Data logging and storage (PostgreSQL/SQLite) with pandas analysis pipelines
• Telegram bot integration for signal delivery to subscribers
• Integration with Polymarket and Kalshi APIs (REST + WebSocket)
• Monitoring and alerting — you will know immediately when something breaks

Note: The above software are suggestions. They don't need to be done on there if you have better alternatives or preferred workflows. That's okay as long as it all works.

Required Skills (Must Have ALL)
• 3+ years Python development
• Strong REST API and WebSocket experience
• Web scraping experience (BeautifulSoup, Selenium, or Playwright)
• Database experience (PostgreSQL or SQLite) and data analysis with pandas
• Task scheduling and automation (cron, APScheduler, or equivalent)
• Can work autonomously with clear specs — you receive the logic, you build the system
• Strong debugging skills — you can diagnose a 2am crash from logs alone
• Fluent written English

Big Plus (Not Required)
• Betting/trading systems or exchange API experience
• Betfair API or Flumine framework knowledge
• Telegram Bot API experience
• Crypto/blockchain API experience (Polymarket, Kalshi)
• Understanding of probability and expected value concepts

Working Arrangement
• Full-time (40 hours/week), must overlap UK afternoon (1pm-5pm GMT) for daily standups
• Fully remote
• Direct Slack/Telegram communication with founder
• Start with 3-day paid trial at full daily rate
