Python Data Assistant (Web Scraping & Automation)

Teacher-Retirement LLC is hiring a reliable and detail-oriented Python Data Assistant to help maintain and improve our internal data and automation systems.

This is a hands-on support role focused on Python-based web scraping, structured data collection, automation tasks, and system maintenance. You’ll help maintain an existing district contact intelligence scraper that collects school district data across U.S. states, assist with additional scraping projects, and support internal automation workflows.

We are looking for someone who is technically capable, eager to learn, and comfortable using AI tools like Claude or ChatGPT to accelerate their work. You do NOT need to be a senior engineer, but you should be dependable, resourceful, and able to troubleshoot problems calmly.

Responsibilities
Help maintain and improve existing Python web scrapers
Build and update simpler scraping scripts as needed
Monitor scraping performance and flag issues quickly
Assist with automation and structured data tasks
Work inside company systems including GitHub and Microsoft 365
Collaborate with the team during overlapping U.S. working hours
Requirements
Basic-to-strong Python skills
Some experience with web scraping or automation
Comfortable learning new tools and workflows
Familiarity with GitHub is a plus
Strong attention to detail
Strong written English communication
Daily or frequent user of Claude, ChatGPT, or similar AI tools
Reliable internet and work setup
Available for overlap from 9 AM–12 PM Eastern Time
Important Requirements
All work must be completed inside company systems
You will receive access to company tools including a Claude Team seat
Contractor agreement must be signed BEFORE any system access is granted
This is non-negotiable

Hourly contractor role
