About the Podcast
Between Worlds with Jack Sorin is a thoughtful, story-driven podcast for culturally homeless overthinkers trying to stay sane, human, and hopeful in a loud, tribal, tech-warped world.
Each episode offers a clear map, a humane insight, and one practical move listeners can use that week. The tone is intelligent, warm, slightly wry, and grounded. It is not rage, not recruiting, and not self-help fluff.
We are building a serious long-ter ---------- dia brand, and we want tea ---------- mbers who care about quality, consistency, and helping the right listeners feel less alone and more able to act.

Summary
We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Podcast Audio Editor to help produce a thoughtful, high-quality podcast.
The host writes and records the podcast. A Podcast Operations Producer (POP) manages workflow, deadlines, approvals, and team coordination.Your role is to take the raw audio and turn it into a clean, polished, professional episode that is ready for podcast platforms and YouTube audio upload.
This is an audio-only role for now. Video editing is not required, though it may be helpful in the future.
The right person will understand how to clean and improve audio while preserving the host’s natural voice, cadence, humor, pauses, and emotional tone. We do not want robotic, over-edited audio. We want episodes that sound clear, warm, natural, and professionally produced.
You will work with a Podcast Operations Manager, who will coordinate files, deadlines, approvals, checklists, and team communication.

Role Details
Typical episodes may include 30–90 minutes of raw audio. Most episodes will be solo-host recordings, though interviews or multi-track episodes appear in some seasons.
You will be responsible for editing, cleaning, mixing, mastering, and exporting podcast episodes so they are ready for publishing.

Responsibilities
Edit raw podcast audio into a polished final episode
Remove or reduce background noise, hiss, hum, echo, and room reverb where possible
Reduce mouth clicks, plosives, harsh “S” sounds, stumbles, mistakes, repeated words, and distracting pauses
Remove or reduce filler words such as “um,” “ah,” and repeated restarts where appropriate
Preserve the natural conversational flow and emotional pacing of the host
Level dialogue volume consistently across the episode
Apply EQ, compression, mixing, and mastering for a clean professional sound
Add supplied intro, outro, music, sponsor segments, ads, or other audio assets
Trim front and end sections cleanly
Export high-quality final files for podcast platforms
Provide MP3 files, and WAV files if requested
Add ID3 tags if needed
Organize project files clearly
Maintain a reusable audio template for intro, outro, music, sponsor slot, and export settings
Provide a short edit-notes document when needed, including any audio problems, major cuts, questions, or timestamps
Identify 3–5 strong ---------- nts from each episode that could be useful for social clips, audiograms, or quote graphics
Deliver the final mastered episode audio that can be used by the Short-Form Video / Audiogram Editor for clips whenever possible.
All final files must be delivered in clearly named folders using the agreed file naming system.

Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience editing podcasts, voiceover, audiobooks, interviews, or long-form spoken audio
Strong understanding of podcast audio cleanup, mixing, mastering, and loudness standards
Ability to make spoken audio sound clear, balanced, and professional

Important Notes
Not all poor audio can be fully repaired. We want an editor who can improve audio significantly, but who also communicates clearly when a recording has limitations.
This role does not currently include video editing. This role owns the full episode audio edit and final mastered episode file. It does not include creating social media audiograms, reels, or short-form video clips unless separately agreed.

Test Task
Shortlisted applicants may be asked to complete a short paid or unpaid test edit using a 5-minute raw audio sample.
For the test, please provide:
Cleaned final audio
