Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Photoshop Background Illustrator / Photoshop Artist to create visually engaging, Pixar-style backgrounds for a high profile client’s STEM educational digital book project. The ideal candidate is an experienced digital artist with a demonstrated understanding of Shade, Light & Shadow, and both 1 and 2 point Perspective. This is a remote, project-based role, perfect for a professional who excels in creating immersive and vibrant digital environments.

Key Responsibilities
-Design and illustrate detailed, high-quality backgrounds in Photoshop that align with the animated/Pixar-inspired art style of the project.
-Illustrate rich and detailed Shade, Light & Shadow.
-Create an accurate perspective.
-Ensure consistent style across multiple illustrations.
-Work iteratively, responding to multiple rounds of notes from customer and director to refine backgrounds.
-Deliver polished, high-resolution backgrounds within project timelines.

Qualifications
-5+ years of professional design experience, preferably in digital backgrounds for educational books, STEM-related materials, or animated media.
-Advanced Photoshop skills, with a strong portfolio showcasing background/environment design.
-Demonstrate perspective, shading, light, and shadow techniques.
-Ability to match an existing art style, particularly Pixar-style or animated-style backgrounds.
-Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative, iterative design process.
