Part-Time Video Editor: Short-Form + Monthly Long-Form

I run a commentary and education brand publishing short videos on culture, philosophy, and current affairs across TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and X, plus one longer-form YouTube video each month. I shoot the footage; you turn it into finished, posted-ready edits.

I'm looking for one reliable editor to own the edit end-to-end: 3–5 short videos per week (90–180 seconds each) and one long-form video per month (20–45 minutes). This is a steady, ongoing relationship, not a one-off gig. I want someone I can hand raw footage to and get back a clean cut that follows a consistent style guide, week after week.


What you'll do
Cut 3–5 short videos per week (90–180s) for TikTok / Reels / Shorts / X, vertical 9:16
Edit one long-form video per month (8–20 min) for YouTube, horizontal 16:9
Add captions/subtitles to a fixed style spec (single-line, short, readable on mobile)
Apply a consistent colour grade and audio clean-up (Lumetri + speech enhancement)
Cut to pacing — remove dead air, tighten gaps, keep energy high in the first 3 seconds
Add simple B-roll, text overlays, zoom punch-ins, and light motion where it serves the point
Export to platform specs and deliver organised, named files on schedule
Take direction from written notes and a style guide, and apply feedback without repeating mistakes


Must-have requirements
Proven short-form editing for social (TikTok / Reels / Shorts) — hook-first, fast pacing
Strong Adobe Premiere Pro skills (this is non-negotiable)
Comfortable with talking-head / commentary edits cut from raw footage
Clean caption work: timing, readability, no typos
Colour grading and audio repair basics (Lumetri, denoise, speech enhance)
Reliable: hits deadlines, communicates proactively, available for consistent weekly turnaround
Working computer that runs Premiere smoothly + stable internet for large file transfer
Good written English for receiving notes and asking questions
