We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Part-Time Graphic Designer to support our marketing team with the creation of high-performing marketing materials for a fast-growing home improvement company specializing in replacement windows and exterior doors.
This role will focus heavily on direct mail design, print advertising, and marketing collateral that drives homeowner inquiries and booked appointments. The ideal candidate understands not only graphic design principles, but also how to create designs that convert into leads and sales.
You will collaborate with our marketing team to design materials used across direct mail campaigns, sales collateral, and promotional marketing.
This is a contract role with consistent ongoing work for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct Mail & Print Marketing Design
Design direct mail postcards, flyers, and promotional mailers
Create print advertisements for local publications and marketing campaigns
Develop door hangers, leave-behinds, and promotional inserts
Format marketing materials for professional printing standards
Marketing Creative Development
Design lead-generation marketing pieces focused on homeowners
Create compelling visual layouts that clearly communicate offers and promotions
Collaborate with marketing leadership on campaign messaging and structure
Design materials that align with brand guidelines and campaign objectives
Copy Integration
Work alongside the marketing team to integrate clear, persuasive marketing copy
Assist with basic headline and promotional copy layout for marketing pieces
Ensure messaging hierarchy (headline, subheadline, call-to-action) is optimized for readability and response
Production & File Preparation
Prepare final artwork files for professional print production
Ensure files meet bleed, trim, resolution, and color specifications
Organize and maintain creative assets for future campaigns
Make revisions quickly based on feedback from the marketing team
Required Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate should have experience designing high-performing marketing materials, particularly in industries that rely on direct response marketing.
Required experience includes:
Proven experience designing direct mail pieces and print marketing materials
Strong understanding of marketing layout structure and visual hierarchy
Experience designing mailers, postcards, flyers, and promotional print ads
Ability to incorporate marketing copy effectively within design layouts
High attention to detail and ability to follow design specifications
Technical Skills
Candidates should be comfortable using industry-standard design tools including:
Adobe Photoshop
Adobe Illustrator
Adobe InDesign
Canva (optional but helpful)
You should also understand:
Print-ready file preparation
Bleed and trim specifications
CMYK vs RGB color formats
High-resolution export settings for print production
Preferred Experience
While not required, candidates with experience in the following industries will stand out:
Home improvement companies
Windows and doors
Roofing
Remodeling
HVAC
Local service businesses
Experience designing lead-generation mailers for contractors or home services companies is highly preferred.
