JOB OVERVIEW

Operations Procurement Coordinator (Remote)

We are a growing international food manufacturing business with operations across Vanuatu and Australia, currently focused on strengthening procurement coordination, operational support systems, supplier management, and supply chain visibility during a period of growth and operational scale-up.

We are looking for a highly organised and operationally minded Procurement Coordinator to help support the day-to-day purchasing and operational supply requirements of our Vanuatu manufacturing operation remotely.

This is a hands-on operational coordination role focused on keeping things moving, supporting operational continuity, improving follow-through, and helping build more consistent and scalable procurement systems and workflows across the business.

The role is heavily focused on supplier coordination, freight and shipping follow-up, purchasing support, workflow visibility, operational prioritisation, and practical day-to-day execution rather than purely strategic or corporate procurement activity.

Key Focus Areas

* Coordinating operational purchasing requirements across packaging, consumables, spare parts, PPE, services, and general operational supplies
* Managing supplier communication, follow-up, and order coordination
* Supporting freight, shipping, import/export, and logistics coordination for Vanuatu operations
* Tracking ETAs, supply risks, urgent operational requirements, and critical stock items
* Supporting operational continuity through proactive communication and follow-through
* Coordinating closely with operations, warehouse/logistics, finance, production, and suppliers across multiple locations and time zones
* Assisting with procurement records, documentation, PO tracking, spend visibility, and traceability requirements
* Supporting procurement workflow consistency, process improvement, and practical systems development within a growing SME/startup environment
* Providing timely updates, escalating issues early, and helping maintain visibility across operational purchasing activities

Ideal Experience

* Procurement, purchasing, supply coordination, logistics, or operational support experience
* Previous experience supporting manufacturing, FMCG, food production, industrial operations, logistics, or other operationally intensive environments is considered essential due to the pace, operational coordination requirements, and manufacturing continuity responsibilities involved
* Experience coordinating suppliers, freight providers, and operational purchasing activities
* Experience coordinating packaging, consumables, spare parts, PPE, maintenance-related items, and operational services highly regarded
* Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple moving priorities
* Strong communication and follow-through
* Comfortable working remotely with operational teams across locations and time zones
* Experience using procurement, ERP, inventory, or operational systems (Netsuite, SAP, Batchmaster, MYOB, etc.) advantageous
* Strong Excel/Google Sheets capability preferred
* Comfortable working within evolving systems and fast-paced operational environments

### Ideal Person

We are looking for someone who is:

* Practical and operationally focused
* Highly organised and responsive
* Strong with follow-through and communication
* Comfortable bringing structure to ambiguity
* Able to balance urgency, operational continuity, and cost awareness
* Calm under pressure and solutions-focused
* Comfortable working independently while supporting a fast-moving operational team remotely

Additional Notes

This role supports a Vanuatu-based manufacturing operation remotely and requires strong coordination, communication, responsiveness, and operational prioritisation across suppliers, freight providers, and internal teams.

The role requires regular daily coordination with Australian suppliers, freight providers, and the Vanuatu operations team. Candidates must therefore be comfortable communicating via phone, email, and video calls and working primarily within Australian and Vanuatu business hours.

We are ideally looking for someone available to commence within the next 1–2 weeks, as our current Procurement Officer finishes on June 12 and we are focused on maintaining operational continuity during the transition.

We are open to:

* Full-time or part-time arrangements
* Project-based or ongoing support
* Remote engagement
* Potential future growth depending on business needs and long-term structure

Compensation

USD $12–15/hour depending on experience, manufacturing/procurement background, and overall capability.
