JOB OVERVIEW

US focused military content page with 2.4 million followers on Facebook. We publish short form video reels daily and are expanding into long form documentary content covering military operations, weapons systems, equipment, and history. All footage is sourced from public domain military archives. We need a dedicated scriptwriter and footage researcher to own the quality and retention of everything we produce.

Footage Sourcing

Search public domain military archives daily for the strongest video candidates across short form and long form formats
Assess each candidate for hook potential, visual variety, and story arc before recommending it
Deliver footage links to the editor with a one-line brief explaining the strongest angle and why it will perform
Stay ahead of the content calendar — footage must be identified the evening before production begins
Build a running library of strong footage organised by category — vehicles, aviation, naval, special operations, interdictions, historical

Short Form Scriptwriting

Write three to five short form VO scripts per day for reels between thirty and sixty seconds
Apply a structured story framework to every script without exception — strong hook, open loop, midway hook at fifteen to twenty seconds, and a payoff that rewards patience
Format all scripts for ElevenLabs AI voiceover — two to three words per line, numbers as words, specific safe language substitutions applied throughout
Deliver finished scripts with hook identified, midway hook timecoded, payoff marked, stat card suggestions included, and ElevenLabs pacing notes for the voice artist

Long Form Scriptwriting

Write 4-5 long form documentary scripts per week between three and ten minutes in length
Structure each script around a full narrative arc — origin, conflict, escalation, resolution, legacy
Layer facts and human stakes together — long form content must feel like a documentary, not a Wikipedia article read aloud
Identify the strongest retention spikes within the long form structure and engineer deliberate hooks at the two minute, four minute, and six minute marks to prevent drop-off
Deliver long form scripts with full timecode guidance, section headers for the editor, and music energy notes throughout

Editor Collaboration

Work directly with the editor daily via Slack — scripts and footage delivered together so he has everything he needs without chasing
Review rough cuts and flag any VO timing mismatches before final export
Suggest stat card text, music energy notes, and visual pacing guidance alongside every script
Be available during editing hours to answer questions and turn around quick revisions fast

Retention Ownership

Track retention performance on every published piece of content
Identify which hook formulas, story spines, and VO styles are driving the highest watch time
Bring weekly retention data into your scripting decisions — what worked last week should inform what you write this week
Flag underperforming content patterns and propose structural fixes
