We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Scribe with Medical Billing/Coding experience to join our team. We are Podiatry Foot and Ankle Specific.

Job Description:
We are looking for a highly organized individual to assist with both medical scribing and medical billing and coding responsibilities. This role involves reviewing and transcribing physician audio recordings and visit notes, ensuring accurate documentation of all clinical encounters, and managing the associated billing and coding processes.

Responsibilities:

Review and transcribe audio recordings and verbal dictations from the physician.

Scribe detailed and accurate clinical notes into the EMR system based on audio recordings.

Review previous patient notes for completeness and clarity.

Assign appropriate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes based on documentation and clinical guidelines.

Audit and correct previous coding to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Submit and track claims using billing software or EMR-integrated tools.

Communicate with insurance companies to resolve denials or rejections.

Collaborate with the physician to ensure documentation supports coding.

Qualifications:

Certification as a Medical Scribe or previous experience in a scribing role.

Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or similar credential preferred.

Minimum 2 years of experience in medical billing and coding, preferably in podiatry or a related specialty.

Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and CMS guidelines.

Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.

Familiarity with EMR systems (e.g., PracticeFusion, PracticeEHR, ModMed) is a plus.

Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with audio transcription tools or scribe software.

Knowledge of podiatry-specific coding and billing best practices.

Experience in reviewing denied claims and resubmitting with corrections.
