JOB OVERVIEW

We are a growing medical equipment retailer serving patients across Illinois, and we are hiring an AI-enabled Customer Representative to own the front end of the patient journey: incoming calls, intake, insurance eligibility, and order placement. This is not a traditional call-center role—you will work alongside advanced AI tools (Gemini and Claude) daily to process large medical files and move orders faster than a conventional rep. A human team reviews shipping and final order confirmation, meaning precise accuracy at your stage is everything.

Priority #1: Managing the end-to-end patient intake process with exceptional accuracy, from verifying insurance and placing orders to leveraging AI for rapid medical file auditing.

Your Responsibilities

• Answer incoming patient calls and troubleshoot needs with patience, clarity, and empathy (frequently assisting patients with limited English proficiency or limited comfort with technology)
• Complete full patient intake and registration, including receiving and processing faxed prescriptions
• Verify patient insurance eligibility seamlessly through the Availity platform
• Place and manage medical equipment orders directly inside Brightree (CRM + ordering)
• Process incoming order intake efficiently via Parachute Health
• Leverage AI tools (Gemini and Claude) to audit large medical files (often 32–100 pages) and accurately extract key data points: height, weight, diagnosis, and medical necessity
• Enter verified patient data into the EMR system accurately and in full compliance with healthcare regulations
• Execute tasks strictly following established SOPs (this is a fast-paced, SOP-driven role, not a training-driven one)

Requirements

• Hands-on proficiency with Brightree, Availity, and Parachute Health (You must be able to demonstrate working proficiency within 3 days of starting based on supplied SOPs; no formal training is provided)
• Real, demonstrable experience using AI tools (Gemini, Claude, or comparable) to process heavy documentation and extract data—not just casual familiarity
• Prior experience in US healthcare intake, insurance eligibility, or Durable Medical Equipment (DME) is strongly preferred
• Excellent spoken and written English with a clear, warm, and highly professional phone manner
• Exceptional attention to detail—accuracy targets are strictly tracked, requiring a 90%+ efficiency standard
• Reliable high-speed internet and a completely quiet, professional workspace for handling sensitive patient calls
