We are looking for a detail-oriented Media Editor to join our team and help create high-quality content across multiple platforms.
Position Overview
This is a part-time contractor position focused on editing long-form and short-form content for our clients.
You will be responsible for transforming raw recordings into polished content that aligns with client branding, platform best practices, and existing content strategies.
Responsibilities
Podcast Editing
* Edit podcast audio and video episodes
* Remove mistakes, pauses, and distractions as needed
* Add intro/outro assets
* Export and organize final files
YouTube Content Editing
* Edit long-form YouTube videos
* Create and implement graphics, transitions, and basic visual enhancements
* Follow existing content styles and brand guidelines
* Export videos according to platform requirements
Short-Form Video Creation
* Create Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, TikTok videos, and other short-form content from podcast and long-form recordings
* Follow existing examples and editing styles
* Add captions, graphics, and visual enhancements
* Identify engaging clips from longer recordings
Content Organization
* Maintain organized project files
* Follow established workflows and SOPs
* Communicate project status and deadlines with the team
Qualifications
Required
* Experience editing video content
* Experience creating short-form content from long-form recordings
* Strong attention to detail
* Ability to follow established editing styles and brand guidelines
* Ability to meet deadlines consistently
* Strong communication skills
* Ability to work independently
Preferred
* Familiarity with podcast production workflows
* Experience editing YouTube content
* Familiarity with Notion
* Experience working remotely with distributed teams
Communication Expectations
Because our team works remotely, communication is important.
Applicants should be comfortable using Slack and responding to team messages within 24 hours during the work week.
Hiring Process
Step 1: Interview
Selected applicants will participate in a video interview to discuss experience, workflow, availability, and editing style.
Step 2: Editing Test Project
Applicants who move forward will receive a paid test project.
The project will involve:
* Editing a short-form video based on an existing example
* Following specific editing instructions and style guidelines
* Demonstrating attention to detail and ability to match an established format
As part of the test project, applicants will also be asked to provide:
* Estimated turnaround time
* Actual time spent completing the project
* Preferred hourly rate
