Mechanical Engineer with Estimation experience

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Fabrication Estimator (Mechanical Engineer) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, drafting experience, estimating/costing, and excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with suppliers and tea ---------- mbers. This role also involves preparing estimates, a skill that can be easily learned with a drafting background.

What You Do:
-Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and scope of work to prepare accurate project cost estimates for industrial and fabrication projects.
-Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements accurately.
-Utilize AutoCAD and other relevant software to analyze and extract necessary information from technical drawings.
-Prepare comprehensive material, labor, and equipment cost breakdowns, factoring in fabrication methods, time frames, and project complexity.
-Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain material pricing and ensure up-to-date pricing databases.
-Participate in project planning meetings, providing insights into estimation accuracy and potential challenges.

What You Must Have:
-Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
-Ability to understand the whole scope.
-Background in steel fabrication. Mining industry is a plus.
-Ability to coordinate with different stakeholders.
-Proven experience in project estimation within the industrial fabrication sector.
-Experience in mining industry estimation is a plus.
-Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, materials, and industry standards.
-Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
-Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
-High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
-Good work ethics or a positive attitude toward work.
-Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field.
-Relevant training certifications related to fabrication or estimating.
-Proven track record with a portfolio of completed projects.
