Role Overview
You will be responsible for planning and booking freight for AJG Transport while ensuring trucks remain productive, profitable, and moving efficiently. This role requires someone who can think strategically, negotiate confidently, and proactively plan freight instead of simply reacting to available loads, while playing a critical role in improving operational efficiency, reducing downtime, and helping scale the fleet through stronger planning and broker relationships.

What You’ll Be Doing
• Book profitable freight for AJG Transport with a focus on planned, high quality loads
• Negotiate freight rates directly with brokers while building long term business relationships
• Plan and dispatch loads strategically to maximize loaded miles and reduce deadhead
• Coordinate closely with drivers to ensure smooth pickups, deliveries, and communication
• Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for dedicated lanes and consistent freight
• Utilize load boards and dispatch platforms to source freight and manage dispatch operations
• Maintain organized tracking, updates, and communication throughout the dispatch process
• Solve live operational challenges quickly while maintaining professionalism and urgency
• Work proactively to prevent service failures, downtime, and unnecessary empty miles

What Success Looks Like
• Trucks remain consistently planned with minimal downtime or unnecessary deadhead
• Freight rates are negotiated competitively and profitably
• Strong broker relationships lead to repeat business and consistent lanes=
• Loads are planned proactively rather than reactively
• Dispatch operations remain organized, efficient, and scalable

Who We’re Looking For
• 1+ year of load planning or load booking experience within the US trucking industry
• Strong experience negotiating freight rates with brokers
• Familiarity with DAT, Truckstop, and other load boards
• Experience dispatching dry van, reefer, or flatbed freight is a plus
• Understands freight markets, lane strategy, and operational efficiency
• Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
• Able to multitask in a fast paced live operations environment
• Professional, proactive, and solutions oriented under pressure
• Has broker relationships or experience developing long term broker partnerships

Schedule & Work Setup
• Full Time Work
• Permanent Work From Home
• Monday – Friday 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM CDT/CST (San Antonio time)
• Must work US business hours
• Collaborative Zoom-based work environment (camera open during shift)
• Time tracking software used for accountability and performance support
