Linux and WordPress Hosting & Development Administrator

**Job Overview:**
We seek a skilled Linux and WordPress Hosting & Development Administrator to manage and enhance our web server instances on Amazon Lightsail. This role involves ensuring the smooth operation of our Linux servers hosting WordPress websites and actively engaging in WordPress development, with a specific focus on using Elementor and WooCommerce. The ideal candidate will be responsible for server setup, maintenance, security, and performance optimisation, as well as website development and maintenance.

**Key Responsibilities:**

1. **Amazon Lightsail Management:**
- Efficiently administer Linux server instances on Amazon Lightsail for optimal WordPress hosting.
- Ensure the web hosting environment is highly available, reliable, and performing.

2. **WordPress Development:**
- Develop and maintain WordPress sites, focusing on creating responsive and aesthetically pleasing designs using Elementor.
- Implement and manage WooCommerce for e-commerce functionalities.
- Customize themes and plugins to meet specific business requirements.

3. **Server Performance and Security:**
- Monitor and optimise server performance for WordPress hosting.
- Implement comprehensive security measures and conduct regular security audits.
- Address performance issues and security vulnerabilities promptly.

4. **Maintenance and Troubleshooting:**
- Regularly update the Linux operating system, WordPress, plugins, and themes.
- Quickly identify and resolve technical issues within the server and WordPress environments.
- Manage backups and establish effective disaster recovery protocols.

5. **Collaboration and Communication:**
- Work collaboratively with the team to enhance the overall web infrastructure.
- Provide technical support for web hosting and WordPress-related issues.
- Document processes, configurations, and modifications in the hosting environment.

**Qualifications:**

- Strong experience in Linux server administration, specifically tailored for WordPress hosting.
- Proficiency in WordPress development, with a focus on Elementor and WooCommerce.
- Knowledgeable in Amazon Lightsail's application for web hosting.
- Understanding of web server technologies, PHP, MySQL, and related technologies.
- Familiar with CDN, caching solutions, and performance tuning for WordPress sites.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a focus on security and reliability.
- Capable of independent work and handling multiple priorities effectively.

**Education:**

- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred.

**Experience:**

- At least 3 years of experience in Linux server administration and WordPress development, including Elementor and WooCommerce.
