JOB OVERVIEW

Project: IRS-Compliant Tax Preparation & E-Filing Engine
We are seeking a highly sophisticated Software Development Team or Agency to architect and execute the development of a US-based tax filing platform. This software will be designed to compete with industry standards such as TurboTax, TaxAct, and H&R Block, prioritizing high-volume data accuracy and a seamless user experience.

This is a high-stakes, project-based engagement requiring a deep understanding of financial security, cloud architecture, and the rigorous certification protocols mandated by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

The Project Scope
The objective is the end-to-end creation of a robust tax preparation system. The defining challenge of this project is navigating the Modernized e-File (MeF) Assurance Testing System (ATS) to achieve full IRS production status.

Key Responsibilities:

Full-Stack Development: Build a scalable architecture using enterprise-grade frameworks (e.g., Python/Django, Java/Spring Boot, or Node.js).

IRS Certification: Lead the technical team through the vigorous process of IRS approval, ensuring all XML schemas and transmission protocols meet federal standards.

Security & Compliance: Implement bank-level encryption (AES-256), multi-factor authentication, and SOC2-compliant data handling.

Cloud Infrastructure: Deploy and manage a high-availability environment on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, ensuring 99.9% uptime during peak tax season.

Team Leadership: You will be responsible for providing and managing your own specialized team (QA, Backend, UI/UX, and Security Engineers).

Required Qualifications
Proven Fintech Experience: A documented history of building complex financial platforms or tax-related software.

Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with IRS Publication 4164 and the technical requirements for Authorized IRS e-file Providers.

Security First Mindset: Expertise in protecting sensitive PII (Personally Identifiable Information).

Management Capability: The ability to provide a "turnkey" team of individuals ready to begin development immediately.

Project Terms
Engagement: Project-Based / Milestone-Based.

Compensation: We are open to discussing a budget that reflects the complexity of the build and the expertise of your team.

Location: Remote; however, deep familiarity with US tax logic and filing regulations is mandatory.

Application Requirements
To be considered, please submit the following:

Technical Portfolio: Links to or descriptions of high-security financial systems your team has successfully deployed.

Team Composition: A breakdown of the personnel you will assign to this project (e.g., 4 Full-stack Developers, 2 QA Engineers, 1 DevOps Specialist).

Strategic Overview: A brief outline of your approach to the IRS ATS/MeF approval process.

Proposal: An initial estimate of your project rates or a range based on a project of this magnitude.
