About the role

We're hiring a Lead Video Editor for a fast-growing personal brand in the lifestyle, travel, and finance space. The brand owner is relocating to West Africa, building a multi-continent operation, and the content reflects that — travel, food, deal-making, podcast conversations, and a quiet-luxury aesthetic that has nothing to do with the typical hype-driven finance creator look.

This is a leadership role first, an editing role second. Your primary responsibility is making sure the right content goes out at the right quality on the right schedule — by delegating to and managing one Assistant Editor, running the weekly cadence, quality-checking everything before it ships, and reporting on output. You'll edit priority pieces yourself when needed, but the role exists to **own outcomes**, not to be the highest-volume editor on the team.

If you've cut for personal brands, creators, or executive thought leaders before — and you're ready to step into a managing role with one editor under you — this is built for you.

---

What you'll do

Primary — leadership and oversight (the bulk of the role)

- Maintain brand standards across every piece — tone, pacing, color, captions, audio
- Delegate editing tasks to the Assistant Editor with clear briefs and deadlines
- Quality-check every piece from the Assistant Editor before it goes to brand-owner review
- Own the content pipeline from raw footage to ready-to-post (Google Drive workflow)
- Run weekly cadence: Monday kickoff, Wednesday midweek sync, Friday report
- Communicate daily via WhatsApp with the brand owner and operations lead
- Track output, KPIs, and pillar mix; flag blockers proactively
- Report on weekly output, performance, and pipeline health

Secondary — editing as needed:

- Edit priority short-form pieces (Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts, podcast clips)
- Edit long-form content (full podcast episodes, YouTube videos, brand pieces)
- Step in on complex cuts & advanced edits the Assistant Editor isn't ready for

---

**What we're looking for**

This is a senior role.

- 3+ years of paid video editing experience for creators, personal brands, or content-driven businesses
- Proven experience editing both short-form and long-form content
- Portfolio that demonstrates quality & effectiveness
- Strong eye for color, audio, captions, and pacing
- Native-or-fluent English (you'll create captions, review the Assistant Editor's captions, and brief them)
- Comfortable leading and managing — delegating tasks, giving feedback, holding standards
- Premiere Pro AND/OR DaVinci Resolve fluency (CapCut OK as secondary)
- Reliable internet, dedicated workspace, capable editing machine
- Available to work 7am–3pm EST consistently — non-negotiable for daily team sync

---

What we offer

- $640 USD/month, paid monthly
- Full-time stable salary
- Long-term role — we are building a brand we expect to be working on for years
- One brand, one client
- Clear systems, clear briefs, real direction (we have a full brand identity doc and content playbook — you won't be guessing what we want)
- Direct line to the brand owner and operations lead
