Layout Designer Needed for Newspaper

We are looking for a designer to design & layout a newspaper. The job mostly involves laying out the article text and photos, inserting ads and making sure that each page looks nice.

Responsibilities include:
• Laying out article text together with article photos.
• Designing community photo pages.
• Checking photos to make sure they are print quality
• Laying out classified ads and community announcements.
• Checking ads for quality and inserting them.
• Making sure that each page looks nice.
• Editing photos.
• Preparing file for printing.

Required Qualifications Include:
• A good eye for detail
• Experience laying out print publications
• Experience using InDesign
• Speaks & understands English well
• Must be very organized.
• Works well with deadlines and understands priorities
• Excellent communication skills

This is a full time job working US eastern standard time hours.
