Laravel Developer (Cursor AI Workflow Preferred)

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Laravel Developer who can work efficiently using Cursor AI to accelerate development, improve code quality, and streamline workflows. You must be comfortable building, optimising, and debugging applications rapidly, using AI-assisted tools to deliver clean, scalable code.

This role is ideal for someone who loves combining strong backend skills with modern AI-powered development workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain web applications built on Laravel (and related PHP frameworks).
Use Cursor AI to accelerate coding, refactoring, documentation, and testing.
Build and integrate RESTful APIs.
Work with MySQL / MariaDB databases, including migrations, optimisation, and indexing.
Implement authentication, authorisation, queues, caching, and scheduling.
Troubleshoot and debug backend issues quickly and efficiently.
Collaborate with front-end developers (Next.js, React, Vue optional).
Improve code quality through automated tests, documentation, and best practices.
Integrate third-party APIs and services.
Manage deployment workflows (Vercel, Forge, Docker, or similar — experience optional but preferred).

Required Skills & Experience

3+ years of professional experience with Laravel.
Strong PHP fundamentals (OOP, design patterns, SOLID principles).
Experience using Cursor AI or other AI coding tools (Copilot, Bolt, Codeium, etc.).
Excellent understanding of MySQL.
Comfortable working with Git, branching, and pull requests.
Experience building scalable REST APIs.
Ability to write clean, maintainable, well-documented code.
Strong debugging and optimisation skills.
Good communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Bonus Experience (Not Required but Highly Preferred)
Knowledge of Next.js, React, or Tailwind.
Experience with CodeIgniter ? Laravel migrations.
Experience with Stripe, Xero API, Firebase, WebSockets, or GHL integrations.
Familiarity with DevOps tools (Forge, Vapor, Docker, CI/CD).
Understanding of marketplace-style platforms (bookings, payments, user roles).
