JOB OVERVIEW

The Junior Helpdesk Support professional serves as the first point of contact for internal users or customers experiencing technical issues. This role provides basic technical support, troubleshooting, and customer service to ensure timely resolution of hardware, software, and connectivity problems. Responsibilities include logging support requests, diagnosing common issues, and escalating complex problems to senior IT staff as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Provide first-level technical support to end users via phone, email, chat, or in person.

Log, track, and document all helpdesk interactions in the ticketing system.

Diagnose and resolve basic hardware, software, and network issues.

Assist with account password resets, user account setup, and Active Directory or similar user management tasks (depending on environment).

Follow standard helpdesk procedures and escalate issues that cannot be resolved at Level 1.

Provide excellent customer service, including follow-up to ensure resolution and user satisfaction.

Assist with workstation and peripheral setup, configuration, and basic maintenance as needed.

Contribute to IT documentation and help desk knowledgebase articles.

Perform other duties as assigned to support efficient IT operations.

Required Skills & Abilities

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Basic understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and other tech.

Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Associate degree or IT certification (e.g., CompTIA A+) is a plus.

No prior experience required; internship or volunteer tech support experience is advantageous.

Work Environment

Full-time, typically Monday–Friday work schedule.

Office or hybrid environment depending on company policy.

May involve occasional onsite support or equipment setup.
