JOB OVERVIEW

REMOTE — Design Development Designer
Singapore-Based Interior Design Practice

We are a Singapore interior design practice with a portfolio spanning residential, hospitality, and commercial projects. We are looking for a designer based in the Philippines who can take a design from intent to a fully resolved, buildable drawing set — and who brings enough technical intelligence to the process that problems are caught on paper, not on site.

This role sits at the intersection of design and documentation. You will receive 3D base models, mood references, and sketches, and from these you will develop the full working drawing package. The expectation is not just to draw what you're given — it's to think through what you're drawing, flag what doesn't work, and ensure every design decision has been resolved before a line goes down.

What you'll be doing

— Developing working drawings and construction details from 3D models, mood imagery, and design sketches provided by the studio
— Reading spatial intent from reference material and translating it accurately into fully dimensioned, coordinated drawings
— Identifying construction and buildability issues at drawing stage — before they become site problems
— Raising design questions proactively when a decision hasn't been made or a detail can't be executed as implied
— Producing plans, elevations, sections, joinery details, ceiling and lighting layouts, and finish schedules
— Managing drawing revisions clearly and maintaining well-organised, version-controlled file sets
— Coordinating with the principal designer through iterative review cycles

What we're looking for

— Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field
— Minimum 4 years of experience producing working drawings and construction details for interior fit-out projects
— The ability to read a 3D model or sketch and understand what it means in construction — not just what it looks like
— Advanced AutoCAD proficiency — this is the core tool for this role
— Working knowledge of SketchUp for model navigation and spatial reference; Revit is a plus
— Experience detailing joinery, built-in furniture, wall cladding, ceiling systems, and custom elements
— A habit of asking the right questions before executing, not after
— Excellent written and spoken English; comfortable on video calls and in async written communication
— Reliable, organised, and self-directed in a remote working environment

What we offer

— Competitive remote salary: ?75,000–?110,000/month depending on experience
— 13th month pay (statutory)
— Working hours with reasonable overlap with Singapore time (SGT)
— Genuine design development work — not repetitive template drafting
— A direct working relationship with the studio principal
— Long-term engagement for the right person

How to apply

Send your CV and portfolio to ---------- with the subject line: DD Designer — [Your Name]

Your portfolio must include working drawings and construction details you have personally produced — plans, elevations, sections, and joinery or built-in details. Submissions showing only renders or mood boards will not be reviewed. If you have examples where your drawing process identified and resolved a design or construction issue, we would love to see those.
