We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Tracking Implementation Specialist to support our paid media efforts by ensuring precise and comprehensive conversion tracking. This role requires deep knowledge of Google Tag Manager (GTM), Google Ads conversion tracking, and CallRail integration. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience configuring form submission and phone call goals for PPC campaigns and will be crucial in aligning tracking infrastructure with campaign objectives.
**Key Responsibilities**
Tag Management and Configuration
- Set up, audit, and manage tags, triggers, and variables in Google Tag Manager (GTM)
- Implement conversion tracking for form submissions and phone calls through GTM
- Collaborate with developers or use GTM tools (e.g., data layer) to ensure accurate firing of tags
Google Ads Conversion Tracking
- Configure and verify Google Ads goals for both lead forms and phone calls
- Ensure goals are properly attributed and feeding into Google Ads reporting for optimization
- Regularly test and troubleshoot conversion tags to maintain data accuracy
Call Tracking Integration
- Fully set up and integrate CallRail with Google Ads and GTM
- Ensure dynamic number insertion (DNI) is functioning correctly across ad campaigns
- Track and report on call conversion events in both Google Ads and Google Analytics
Audit & Quality Control
- Perform ongoing audits of tracking setups across accounts to ensure reliability
- Identify discrepancies or tracking failures and resolve them promptly
- Maintain detailed documentation of tracking implementations and changes
Collaboration
- Work with PPC strategists and campaign managers to align tracking goals with KPIs
- Communicate technical tracking concepts in a way that is understandable to non-technical tea
**Qualifications**
- 2–4+ years of experience in digital marketing or technical implementation roles
- Proven experience setting up Google Ads goals (calls and form submissions)
- Strong proficiency with Google Tag Manager, Google Ads, and Google Analytics
- Experience with CallRail implementation and tracking setup
- Ability to read and work with basic HTML and JavaScript is a plus
- Familiarity with using browser dev tools and tag debugging tools (e.g., Tag Assistant, GTM preview)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple tracking tasks across projects
- Must be available to work 9 AM – 5 PM Mountain Time (MT)
