Gold Prospecting Product Engineer

About Us:

We specialize in gold prospecting supplies for hobby prospectors and are looking to develop innovative new products for the industry. Our goal is to design and manufacture high-quality metal and 3D-printed prospecting equipment that meets the needs of serious prospectors. We are seeking a skilled Product Engineer / Developer to work closely with us to bring these ideas to life using computer aided design softwares.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a Gold Prospecting Product Engineer with strong CAD skills to develop both metal and 3D-printed prospecting products. This role involves taking product concepts and translating them into engineering-ready CAD designs suitable for manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have experience in computer aided product design consisting of metal fabrication, 3D printing, and product prototyping.

Key Responsibilities:
-Work closely with the founder to refine product ideas and features.
-Apply engineering principles to develop functional, durable product designs.
-Create CAD models and technical drawings ready for manufacturing.
-Ensure designs are optimized for metal fabrication (laser cutting, CNC machining, welding) and 3D printing (FDM, SLA, SLS).
-Provide recommendations on materials, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
-Research & Source materials & manufacturers to create our products

Qualifications & Skills:
-Degree or experience in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
-Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, or similar).
-Experience designing for metal fabrication and 3D printing.
-Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
-Ability to take concepts from idea to production-ready design.
-Hands-on prototyping and problem-solving skills.
-Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.

Bonus Skills (Not Required, but Preferred):
-Ability to recognise & source products when they already exist from marketplaces like (Alibaba)
-Experience in prospecting, mining, or outdoor equipment design.
-Familiarity with plastic injection molding or composite materials (i.e carbon fibre)
-Knowledge of water flow dynamics (for sluices, highbankers, etc.).
