Full-Time Fiction Proofreader

We are a growing romance publishing company seeking a highly detail-oriented full-time proofreader to review fiction manuscripts before publication.

Grammar and punctuation are typically already strong, so the primary focus of this role is careful quality review — identifying repetition, inconsistencies, awkward phrasing, timeline issues, and subtle narrative errors while preserving the author’s voice.

This is a long-term remote position with a consistent weekly workload and the opportunity to grow with our editorial team.

Responsibilities
- Proofread romance manuscripts for:
- Repeated phrases or repeated sections
- Character, timeline, or continuity inconsistencies
- Awkward phrasing or unnatural dialogue
- Formatting inconsistencies
- Light grammar and punctuation review where needed
- Leave clear comments and suggested corrections using Track Changes
- Deliver assignments on schedule

Requirements
- Excellent written English comprehension
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Comfortable reading full-length fiction manuscripts
- Experience using Google Docs or Microsoft Word Track Changes
- Reliable internet connection
- Willingness to complete a short paid proofreading test
