Hi, I'm Jayden Kim from Flash Studio.
Flash Studio is a development studio that works on web and app projects for clients in Korea and Japan. We're looking for a frontend developer (React, Next.js) to take on the frontend work for our projects.
Working hours are about 3 to 4 hours a day, and there is no fixed schedule.
As long as you hit the deadlines, you can work at night, early in the morning, or whenever works for you.
The role is 100% remote, and we are looking for a long-term teammate.
After 3 months, we run a full-time conversion interview.
If you prefer to stay part-time after that, that's also fine. You can keep working with us part-time for as long as you want.
How we work
- We are a fully remote, async team. You own your schedule and your work.
- We care about results, not hours sat at a desk.
- We use AI tools heavily in our daily work (ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Copilot, and so on). Not as a buzzword, but because they actually save time. We expect you to use them too.
- The frontend stack changes quickly. We want someone who keeps up, tries new things, and brings what they learn back to the team.
- We share what we know. If you know something, teach it. If you don't, ask. Everyone here grows because we listen to each other.
- We don't want someone who just waits for tasks. We want someone who understands why the work matters, owns it from start to finish, and figures things out on their own when needed.
What you will do
- Build web frontends for Korean and Japanese clients (landing pages, marketing sites, dashboards, SaaS, internal tools) using React and Next.js.
- Work with backend APIs provided by our backend team.
- Turn Figma designs into clean, responsive UI.
- Keep the code, performance, and component structure in good shape.
- Work closely with designers and backend developers, mostly in writing.
- Iterate fast based on client and internal feedback.
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of frontend development experience.
- Solid working knowledge of React and Next.js.
- Comfortable working with REST / JSON APIs, including auth, error handling, and edge cases.
- Good HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript or TypeScript fundamentals.
- Experience with responsive design and cross-browser issues.
- Used to Git-based workflows (branches, PRs, code review).
- Enough English to handle text-based async communication.
- A link to your work (GitHub, personal site, deployed projects). Please send links only, not file attachments.
What we care about most
- Your drive to grow matters more than your current skill level.
- You don't need to be perfect right now. You can learn after joining.
- Mindset, logic, and growth potential matter more to us than what you can do today.
- We want people who think for themselves, not people who wait to be told what to do.
Nice to have
- TypeScript.
- Tailwind CSS, shadcn/ui, or similar modern styling stacks.
- State management (Zustand, Redux, React Query, etc.).
- Understand about Amazon AWS, EC2/ECS/S3
- A basic sense for UI/UX so you can talk things through with designers.
- Some sense of Korean, Japanese, or wider Asian product and design trends.
- Open source contributions or side projects.
Pay and benefits
- $4 to $10 per hour, based on experience and portfolio.
- Paid by actual hours worked.
- Any AI or productivity tool you need is covered. ChatGPT Pro, Claude Max, whatever helps you work better.
- After 3 months, we cover 100% of self-development costs (courses, books, conferences, learning subscriptions, and so on).
- Pay is formally reviewed every 6 months. If you bring objective reasons for a raise, we will do our best to meet you there.
How to apply
Step 1. Send your application.
Send a short intro, your background, and a link to your work (GitHub, personal site, deployed projects).
To show that you actually read the post, please put "Cloudless" at the top of your message.
Step 2. Paid coding task and short interview.
Shortlisted candidates get a short coding task (about 1 to 2 hours of work).
Even if you are not selected after the task, we will pay you $20 USD for your time.
Step 3. Final hire and onboarding on the first project.
* Because of the volume of applications, we may not be able to reply to everyone individually. Sorry in advance, and thank you for understanding.
