JOB OVERVIEW

About the Role
We're seeking an experienced UX/UI Designer for a focused one-month contract to refine and finalize work-in-progress Figma files for our SaaS platform. This is a critical handoff project where you'll take existing design work across the finish line, ensuring our front-end development team has production-ready specifications.
Key Responsibilities
UX Research & Strategy

Develop detailed user personas for our B2B target markets, including roles, goals, pain points, and use cases
Map user relationships and hierarchies within organizations to inform platform architecture
Create comprehensive user workflows documenting key journeys and interactions across the platform

Design System & Atomic Design

Build and document atomic design system components (atoms, molecules, organisms, templates, pages)
Define and specify interaction behaviors for all UI elements including buttons, modals, popups, tooltips, dropdowns, and form elements
Document all component states (default, hover, active, focus, disabled, loading, error, success)
Establish motion and animation principles for micro-interactions

UI Design & Refinement

Review and audit existing Figma files to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and areas requiring refinement
Polish UI components and establish or refine the design system for consistency across the platform
Create detailed, developer-ready specifications including spacing, typography, colors, and interaction states
Ensure responsive design patterns are clearly documented for desktop, tablet, and mobile viewports

Collaboration & Handoff

Collaborate with our front-end development team to clarify design intent and answer implementation questions
Organize Figma files with proper naming conventions, component libraries, and clear documentation
Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure designs meet accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA)
Prepare comprehensive design handoff documentation including user flows, edge cases, and interaction specifications

Required Qualifications

4+ years of professional UX/UI design experience, preferably with B2B SaaS products
Proven experience creating user personas for B2B audiences and mapping organizational user relationships
Strong background in user journey mapping and workflow design
Expert-level proficiency in Figma, including auto-layout, components, variants, and design systems
Deep understanding of atomic design methodology and component-based design systems
Demonstrated experience documenting interaction behaviors, micro-interactions, and component states
Proven experience preparing design files for developer handoff
Strong understanding of responsive design principles and mobile-first methodology
Knowledge of front-end development constraints and capabilities (HTML/CSS/JavaScript fundamentals)
Portfolio demonstrating clean, intuitive interface design and attention to detail
Experience working in fast-paced, agile environments with tight deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

Experience conducting B2B user research and stakeholder interviews
Background in service design or enterprise software workflows
Experience designing for B2B SaaS platforms with multiple user roles and permissions
Familiarity with design tokens and development handoff tools (Figma Dev Mode, Zeplin, etc.)
Understanding of accessibility best practices and inclusive design
Background working with component libraries like Material-UI, Ant Design, or similar
Experience with design QA and catching edge cases before development
Knowledge of interaction design patterns and behavior documentation tools

What Success Looks Like

Comprehensive B2B user personas that inform design decisions and development priorities
Clear user relationship maps and workflow diagrams that guide platform architecture
Atomic design system with fully documented components (atoms through pages) and all interaction states
Complete behavior specifications for all interactive elements (buttons, popups, modals, forms, tooltips, etc.)
Figma files are organized, consistent, and ready for development implementation
Front-end developers have clear specifications with minimal back-and-forth
Design system components are reusable and properly documented
All responsive breakpoints and interaction states are clearly defined
Handoff includes comprehensive documentation for smooth implementation
