Electrical Estimator – Australian Projects (Remote – Philippines)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to support Australian electrical projects on a project-by-project basis. This role is ideal for someone with strong estimating experience who can review tender documentation, complete detailed quantity take-offs, prepare labour and material estimates, obtain supplier and subcontractor pricing, and assist with the preparation of competitive tender submissions.

The successful applicant will work remotely and collaborate with our team using Microsoft Teams, Autocad and Groundplan.

Key Responsibilities

Review project plans, specifications, drawings and tender documentation.

Prepare accurate quantity take-offs using Groundplan.

Develop detailed labour, material and equipment estimates for electrical installations.

Calculate labour hours and manpower requirements based on Australian installation practices.

Prepare complete cost estimates ready for management review.

Source and obtain supplier and subcontractor quotations where required.

Review tender documents and identify exclusions, assumptions and potential risks.

Prepare tender summaries, scope reviews and pricing breakdowns.

Maintain estimating records, take-offs and supporting documentation

Participate in tender review meetings via Microsoft Teams.

Ensure estimates align with relevant Australian Standards, codes and industry practices.

Assist in identifying value engineering opportunities and alternative solutions where appropriate.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical estimating.

Previous experience estimating Australian electrical projects is highly desirable.

Strong understanding of Australian electrical construction methods and standards.

Proficiency in:

Take offs

• Groundplan

• Microsoft Excel

• Microsoft Teams

Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications and schedules.

Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills.

Ability to work independently and meet tender deadlines.

Reliable high-speed internet connection and suitable home office environment.

Tendering and subcontractor procurement.

Engagement Model

This is a project-based role rather than a full-time position. The successful applicant will be allocated tenders and estimating projects as required and will be paid a fixed fee per project. Consistent high performance may lead to regular ongoing work.
