We are a growing building services consultancy based in the UK, specialising in high-quality electrical and mechanical design. We work across a wide variety of projects, including residential developments, schools, and commercial units. As part of our expansion, we are seeking a talented Electrical Design Engineer with experience in the UK building services industry to join our team remotely from the Philippines.

We will consider all experience levels; however, a high level of experience is desired.

Role Overview

The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for producing high-quality electrical designs and calculations for building services projects in line with UK standards and regulations. You will work closely with our UK team, supporting the preparation of designs, reports, drawings, and technical documentation.

Initially, this role will be offered on a 1-month trial contract to assess fit and competence, with the strong possibility of a long-term/permanent position for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare electrical building services designs (lighting, power distribution, small power, fire alarms, data, and security systems) in line with UK regulations (BS7671, IET Wiring Regulations, CIBSE guidelines, etc.).

Carry out load assessments, cable sizing, and other relevant calculations.

Use design software such as Amtech (ProDesign) – a strong advantage.

Prepare and review electrical drawings, schematics, and single-line diagrams.

Coordinate with mechanical and other design disciplines as required.

Ensure designs meet UK codes, standards, and client requirements.

Assist with producing technical reports, specifications, and project documentation.

Work independently but communicate effectively with the UK team on progress and queries.

Qualifications & Skills

Essential:

Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Strong knowledge of electrical design principles for building services.

Familiarity with UK electrical standards (BS7671, IET Wiring Regulations, CIBSE).

Proficiency in AutoCAD (or similar CAD software).

Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).

Ability to work remotely, independently, and meet deadlines.

Desirable (but not essential):

Proficiency in Amtech (ProDesign).

Revit (BIM) skills for electrical design coordination.

Prior experience in an international or remote work environment.
