THE ROLE
We're looking for a highly capable Ecommerce Operations Assistant who can own the operational layer of our online business - not just maintain it. You'll manage everything from Shopify product data and marketplace integrations to inventory workflows and performance reporting. This role suits someone who has done this work at depth, moves fast, and holds a high bar for accuracy.
You'll report to the Digital and Ecommerce Manager and work across marketing, product, demand planning and operations.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
Shopify & Product Operations
Own end-to-end product data: titles, descriptions, metafields, SEO metadata, imagery, tagging, and variant management
Execute bulk product imports, data migrations, and catalogue updates using Matrixify - fluency required, not optional
Manage collection and homepage merchandising aligned to seasonal campaigns and promotional schedules
Maintain inventory accuracy, SKU consistency, and pre-order/back-in-stock logic within CIN7 and Shopify
Build and maintain Shopify app stack configurations across the relevant tools in use
Marketplace & Channel Management
Own THE ICONIC and David Jones marketplace feeds: timely uploads, pricing accuracy, image compliance, and product readiness
Maintain channel sync between Shopify and marketplace integrations, resolving discrepancies proactively
Coordinate Style Arcade for range planning and assortment alignment with the merchandising team
Performance & Analytics
Deliver weekly ecommerce performance reports covering conversion, listing accuracy, fulfilment speed, and marketplace benchmarks
Conduct competitor and pricing analysis with actionable recommendations
Maintain alignment between site merchandising and paid media - collection pages, tagged products, landing pages
Operations & Process
Act as the operational link between product, demand planning, warehouse, and ecommerce - accurate order flow, issue resolution
Write and maintain SOPs and workflow documentation across ecommerce and marketing operations
Use AI tools to automate repetitive tasks, and improve operational output with real examples to show for it
TOOLS & SYSTEMS
Required
Shopify: Advanced: metafields, bulk editor, app management, theme-level understanding, analytics
Matrixify: Bulk imports, data migrations, catalogue restructuring
Google Sheets: Reporting, data manipulation, workflow tracking
Strongly Preferred
Style Arcade — range planning and assortment management
CIN7: Inventory management, stock sync, order flow
Marketplace platforms: THE ICONIC, David Jones integrations
Customer service platforms: Gorgias
AI tools with demonstrated operational use — not familiarity, actual workflow integration
Adobe Photoshop, Canva or equivalent for basic image production
Project and comms tools: Asana, Slack
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
4–5+ years in ecommerce operations or digital merchandising in fashion or apparel retail
Demonstrated experience with Shopify at an advanced level — you can troubleshoot, configure, and optimise, not just navigate
Hands-on CIN7 experience managing inventory workflows across channels
Matrixify proficiency for bulk data operations — this is a hard requirement for the volume of catalogue work involved
Strong analytical communication; we’re looking for someone to read the data and make suggestions not just produce reports.
A track record of finding and fixing process problems, not waiting to be asked
Willingness to work when required (some evening and weekend work)
WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT
This is not a coordination role. You won't be handing tasks off and following up. You'll be executing them. If you thrive on ownership, pace, and getting things right the first time this works for you.
WHAT WE OFFER
Competitive compensation
Fully remote with flexible working arrangements
A lean, direct team — fast decisions, low bureaucracy
Real scope to improve systems and own the ecommerce function as the business scales
