JOB OVERVIEW

About Hustl
Hustl is a multi-eight-figure ecommerce holding group running a high-velocity testing and optimization program across our DTC brands. We're a lean, AI-native operation. Claude and other AI tools handle a lot of the heavy production work, so our team can focus on strategy, judgment, and taste.

The Role
This is a pure strategy and ownership role. You won't be pushing pixels, writing production code, or waiting for a PM to tell you what to test next. You are the brain behind the CRO program.

You own the roadmap end-to-end: identifying opportunities, forming hypotheses, designing tests, QA'ing the builds, analyzing results with statistical rigor, shipping winners, and compounding learnings over time. You'll work closely with our developers and designers (who execute the builds) and our email and paid teams (so on-site strategy stays aligned with the full funnel).

We're looking for someone who has personally run dozens of tests at a serious DTC brand or CRO agency, has strong opinions about what actually moves the needle in ecommerce, and can defend those opinions with data.

What You'll Own
- The entire CRO roadmap: what gets tested, in what order, and why
- Hypothesis development grounded in analytics, session recordings, heatmaps, surveys, and user research
- Test design: variants, audience targeting, sample size, duration, primary and guardrail metrics
- Managing the split-testing tool end-to-end (we use ---------- )
- QA of every test before it goes live — no broken variants shipping to production
- Analyzing results with statistical rigor. No declaring winners on 80% confidence. No ignoring novelty effects
- Running retros after every test and maintaining a learnings library so we compound insights
- Project-managing design and dev on test implementation: briefs, reviews, unblocking, shipping
- Reporting CRO impact, lift, revenue, and pipeline to leadership

Must-Haves
- 2+ years running CRO programs at a DTC brand, CRO agency, or in-house ecommerce team
- You've personally designed and analyzed dozens of tests and can walk us through specific wins, losses, and learnings
- Deep fluency in at least one major testing platform (Convert, VWO, Optimizely, AB Tasty, Kameleoon). ---------- experience is a strong plus
- Strong statistical literacy: you know the difference between frequentist and Bayesian, what "statistical significance" actually means, and when a test is valid vs noise
- Analytics fluency: GA4, Shopify or BigCommerce analytics, heatmaps (Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity), session recording tools
- Strong design sensibility. You can't draw it, but you know when a variant is cooked before it ships
- Highly analytical, detail-obsessed, and comfortable saying "this test isn't ready to go live"
- Strong project management instincts. You can run a roadmap, brief designers and devs, and keep shipping
- You think in hypotheses, not opinions. You say "I think this will lift conversion by 3-5?cause…" not "I feel like this looks better"

Nice-to-Haves
- Experience on Shopify or BigCommerce specifically
- Prior work on physical product / DTC (not just SaaS or lead-gen landing pages)
- Familiarity with qual research methods (user interviews, surveys, voice-of-customer)
- Copywriting or UX writing instincts
- Experience with personalization and segment-level testing
- Comfortable using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) to accelerate research, hypothesis writing, or test briefs

How We Work
- Remote, async-first
- Fast-moving ecommerce operation. This is an ops role, not a research role
- You'll be measured on velocity of tests shipped and verified incremental lift over time
- Competitive compensation, weighted toward operators who can run the CRO function independently without hand-holding
