E-Commerce Bookkeeper

This is not a traditional bookkeeping role. We need someone who can go beyond recording transactions — we want a financial partner who can analyze SKU-level profitability, track every fee and cost, and help us make smarter pricing and inventory decisions. You will own the books, the numbers, and the insights.
Key Responsibilities
• Bookkeeping & Reconciliation: Maintain accurate books in QuickBooks Online (or similar) — categorize all transactions, reconcile bank/credit card accounts, and ensure month-end close is timely and clean.
• Profitability Analysis: Calculate true profit per unit per SKU across all marketplaces, factoring in COGS, marketplace fees (FBA/referral/placement), ad spend, shipping, returns, and refunds.
• Marketplace Reporting: Pull and analyze settlement reports from Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Shopify, and other marketplaces; reconcile platform payouts to the books.
• Accounts Payable: Process vendor bills, manage payment schedules, and maintain vendor records.
• Accounts Receivable: Track customer payments, marketplace reserves, and outstanding receivables.
• Inventory & COGS: Work with inventory data to maintain accurate COGS, track landed costs, and support FIFO/lot tracking.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements; deliver SKU-level and marketplace-level profitability reports.
• Item-Level Analysis: Flag underperforming SKUs, identify margin compression, spot fee anomalies, and recommend corrective actions.
• Cross-Entity Bookkeeping: Support bookkeeping across multiple related business entities and keep records cleanly separated.
• Year-End Prep: Organize records and supporting schedules for the US-based accountant at year-end.
