We are supporting an established Australian-based marine construction business with over 40 years of industry experience. Their projects range from residential pontoons and decks to large-scale infrastructure such as ferry terminals, marinas, boardwalks, and floating walkways.
This is a fully remote opportunity, ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment while working independently.
About the Role
As a Designer / Draftsperson, you will play a key role in delivering accurate and high-quality design outputs. You will be responsible for producing detailed 2D drawings and 3D models used for approvals, design development, fabrication, and construction across a variety of marine projects.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare drafting for residential and commercial marine projects (small to large scale)
Develop working drawings from sketches or concepts provided by internal and external stakeholders
Produce tender and contract drawings
Assist with production-related enquiries
Collaborate closely with the senior design team and commercial stakeholders
Prepare quantity take-offs
Requirements
Tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Structural Design/Drafting, or relevant trade background with drafting experience
Minimum of 3 years’ drafting experience (mechanical or structural)
Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD or Inventor (Vault experience is an advantage)
Experience in manufacturing and/or construction processes
Strong attention to detail, particularly in shop/fabrication drawings
Good communication skills with the ability to work independently and within a team
