Deductions/Chargebacks Specialist

Alpine Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented Marketplace Deductions & Compliance Analyst to support the monitoring, investigation, and recovery of retailer deductions across major online and retail partners including Amazon, Home Depot, Wayfair, Lowe’s, and other marketplaces.

This role will be responsible for identifying chargebacks, promotional deductions, and vendor funding discrepancies, and working internally with accounting, sales, and operations teams to verify validity and pursue recovery when appropriate.

The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience working with large datasets and retailer portals such as Amazon Vendor Central.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor retailer payment reports and deduction activity across multiple sales channels
• Download and review deduction reports from retailer portals (Amazon Vendor Central, retailer portals, etc.)
• Maintain Alpine’s Deduction Audit Tracker, documenting all deductions, amounts, invoices affected, and deduction categories
• Investigate the validity of deductions including freight allowances, promotional funding, damage claims, shortages, and vendor funded discounts
• Work with internal teams (accounting, sales, operations) to verify whether deductions are valid
• Prepare documentation to dispute invalid deductions and submit disputes through retailer portals or designated processes
• Track deduction disputes and recovery status to completion
• Maintain organized records of deduction evidence including invoices, agreements, and supporting documentation
• Produce weekly deduction summary reports for management showing total deductions identified, disputed, and recovered
• Assist in identifying trends or recurring deduction issues and recommend process improvements

Qualifications

• Strong Excel / spreadsheet skills (pivot tables, data organization, reconciliation)
• High attention to detail and strong analytical mindset
• Experience working with e-commerce platforms such as Amazon Vendor Central preferred
• Familiarity with retailer chargebacks, deductions, or accounts receivable reconciliation is a plus
• Strong organizational and documentation skills
• Excellent written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage ongoing tracking processes
