About the Role
We’re a Florida-based construction company looking for a detail-oriented Data Research Assistant to help us research and document building permit data.
We will consider part time, full time and Gig employment for this position and work can be performed any time of day or night.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys online research, spreadsheets, accuracy, and consistent work with clear systems.
Responsibilities
- Research permit data for communities/streets that we identify, using Florida county building department websites (Orange, Seminole, Volusia, Brevard, Lake, Polk, Hillsborough, etc.)
- Enter key property details that we identify into a shared Google/Excel Sheet, including:
- Verify accuracy
- Tag and organize results by subdivision or community name
- Provide a daily summary of completed work and any questions or missing data
- Follow specific research SOPs and video instructions (provided via Loom)
Required Skills
- Strong experience with Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel (filters, formulas, sorting, conditional formatting)
- Comfortable navigating U.S. public records, permit lookup sites, county building department and property appraiser portals
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Reliable, proactive communication in English (written)
- Fast, consistent internet connection
- Prior experience doing research for U.S. real estate, or construction companies preferred
Bonus Skills
- Familiarity with Florida counties or U.S. permit systems
- Prior work with data cleaning or lead generation in the construction space
Performance Expectations
- Accuracy rate above 95% on random checks
- Timely completion and clean data formatting
- Daily progress report via Slack or Google Chat
- Screen monitoring via OnlineJobs.ph TimeProof (required)
