JOB OVERVIEW

We’re a fast-moving Silicon Valley startup building the data layer behind a global, technical industry. Our customers are sophisticated, metrics-driven, and expect credible, defensible answers — not hand-wavy charts.

We’re hiring a data-obsessed operator to own customer-facing metric presentations.

If you only like making slides look nice but don’t question the numbers behind them, this is not the role.

If you see a spike or drop and immediately ask “what broke or what changed?”, keep reading.

What you’ll do
-Build 20 slide, executive-ready data-driven presentations used directly with customers
-Ensure every number is accurate, consistent, and defensible
- Investigate spikes, drops, and anomalies before customers ever see them
- Identify root causes (seasonality, product changes, data issues, behavior shifts)
- Clearly explain what happened, why it happened, and whether it matters
-Flag issues early when numbers don’t pass a basic smell test

This is not passive reporting. You are expected to think, question, and investigate.
- This role is NOT A design-only role.
- A dashboard babysitting role
- A “just present what’s there” role

You’re a strong fit if you

- Have worked with product, usage, or customer data in a real startup environment
- Get uncomfortable when metrics don’t line up
- Know data pipelines fail — and know how to detect it
- Can explain complex findings clearly to non-technical audiences
- Take pride in work that holds up under scrutiny
