JOB OVERVIEW

Creative studio producing performance ads for DTC brands on Meta is looking for a performance-driven video editor who understands that every cut, caption, and frame exists to convert — not to look pretty. You'll be editing across multiple client accounts, working from detailed briefs with creative direction. This is not a generic editing role. You're editing ads that need to stop the scroll, hold attention, and drive purchases. If you've never thought about how your editing decisions affect thumb stop rates, hold rates, and CPAs, this isn't the right fit.

You'll be cutting raw footage into final Meta ads — hooks, B-roll inserts, captions, pacing. Editing 15-25+ ad creatives per month across multiple client accounts. Working from detailed briefs with creative direction, pacing notes, and B-roll insertion cues. Exporting vertical 9:16 optimized for Meta placements. Iterating on winners — new hooks on proven bodies, format swaps, creator swaps. Building ads using AI tools when needed (voiceover, generated footage, etc.)

What you need

- Proven experience editing DTC or e-commerce video ads that ran on Meta or TikTok with real spend behind them
- A portfolio of ads that actually performed — bonus if you can share metrics
- Understanding of direct response fundamentals — hooks, hold rates, CTRs, CPAs, and how editing decisions affect each one
- Proficiency in CapCut, Premiere Pro, or DaVinci Resolve
- Comfortable working with AI tools and willing to learn new ones fast
- Clean burned-in captions that match spoken audio
- An instinct for what makes an ad look native vs. what makes it look like a commercial
- Self-driven — you take the brief, you deliver, you flag issues early without being asked

What you don't need

- Motion graphics or After Effects expertise
- A film degree
- 10 years of experience — if you've been editing DTC ads for 6 months and your work converts, that matters more than a decade of irrelevant work

Bonus

- You've built static ads in Canva
- You understand Meta's ad delivery system and why visual diversity matters
- You've worked with raw creator footage and know what's usable vs. what's not
- You're plugged into the DTC ad space — you follow the accounts, study the ads, know what's working right now

Details

- Remote, freelance
- Flexible hours but must hit weekly deadlines consistently
- Paid per deliverable, not hourly
- Payment within 48 hours of approved delivery
- Opportunity to grow into a full-time role as the studio scales

To apply

D ---------- examples of video ads or branded content you've edited. That's it.
