Job Title: Credit Manager
Location: Remote
Reports To: President
Department: Finance
Job Summary:
The Credit Manager is responsible for overseeing the credit granting process for the company. This includes assessing the creditworthiness of potential customers, monitoring existing customers, and minimizing bad debts. The Credit Manager will develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective credit management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Credit Assessment and Approval:
- Evaluate the creditworthiness of potential customers using various financial analysis methods.
- Establish credit limits based on creditworthiness and company policies.
- Approve or reject credit applications within authorized limits.
2. Accounts Receivable Management:
- Monitor accounts receivable to ensure timely collection of outstanding invoices.
- Develop and implement collection strategies to reduce past-due accounts.
- Work closely with the sales team to resolve customer disputes and improve payment timelines.
3. Risk Management:
- Identify and manage credit risks to minimize bad debts.
- Develop and implement credit policies and procedures to mitigate risks.
- Monitor economic trends and industry developments to assess potential impacts on credit risk.
4. Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare regular reports on credit and collections performance for senior management.
- Analyze credit data and financial statements to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Provide recommendations to management on credit risk management strategies.
5. Team Management:
- Supervise and train credit and collections staff.
- Set performance goals and conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Credit Manager or similar role.
- Strong understanding of credit analysis, financial statements, and credit risk management.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Professional certification (e.g., Certified Credit Executive) is a plus.
- Proven Experience leading a team
Work Environment:
- This is a full-time position with hours 7AM to 4PM PST with a 1 hour lunch. Monday through Friday.
