JOB OVERVIEW

CREATIVE DIRECTOR — DTC Consumer Brands

We're looking for a Creative Director to own the creative vision and execution for a defined portfolio of premium DTC consumer brands in the pet and home lifestyle space. This is a hands-on leadership role — you'll set the direction, manage a small team, and be directly accountable for the quality and consistency of everything that goes to market.

You'll report to our Head of Creative and work closely with marketing and brand stakeholders. This is not a review-and-approve role. You'll be shaping brand identity, leading campaigns, making creative calls, and producing work yourself when needed. We need someone who has built or led creative inside CPG or DTC product brands — not agencies without a product focus, not service industries, not entertainment or sports.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

Full creative ownership of 1–2 DTC consumer brands — brand identity, visual standards, and campaign direction
Day-to-day creative direction and mentorship for direct reports (Senior Graphic Designer)
Design and art direction of assets across email, web/landing pages, PPC ads, organic social, packaging, and marketing collateral
Creative strategy and brand storytelling — translating brand positioning into compelling visual experiences
Review and approval of all creative output within your brand portfolio before it goes to market
Collaboration with performance marketing to develop creative that balances brand integrity with conversion goals
Contributing to broader creative team standards, processes, and culture


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

5–8+ years in graphic design or art direction, with at least 2 years in a creative leadership role
Demonstrated experience in DTC e-commerce or CPG — consumer brands built around physical products (pet, wellness, beauty, food & beverage, home goods, or similar)
Strong portfolio showing brand identity work, campaign creative, and multi-channel design for physical consumer products
Experience directing and mentoring designers — you give clear, motivating creative feedback
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously without sacrificing quality
Excellent written and verbal English communication
Self-directed and accountable — you don't need to be managed, you manage


TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Expert-level Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Solid understanding of digital production specs for email, landing pages, PPC ads, and social media
Hands-on experience with packaging design and print production — dielines, bleed, color profiles, vendor file prep
Comfortable in a remote, async-friendly environment with regular video collaboration


NICE TO HAVE

Experience specifically in pet, wellness, or home lifestyle categories
Familiarity with Figma or similar prototyping tools
Basic motion or video editing experience


THIS ROLE IS NOT THE RIGHT FIT IF:
Your background is primarily in service industries, B2B, real estate, sports, entertainment, religious organizations, or agency work without a physical consumer product focus. We need a Creative Director who has led creative for brands built around products people buy — not services, experiences, or content.

LOCATION & SCHEDULE
Fully remote. Candidates must have consistent overlap with US business hours (PST) for team collaboration, reviews, and standups.
