JOB OVERVIEW

THE ROLE

We're a small team of 3 managing content production across a growing client portfolio - blog posts, landing pages, Google Business posts, press releases, and more. We use AI-assisted automation to generate content at scale, but we don't want machines to have the final word.

That's where you come in. As our Content Editor, you're the last set of human eyes before anything goes out the door. Your job is to elevate content, not just approve it.

We're looking for a writer first, SEO second. If you can craft a sentence that stops someone mid-scroll, we'll teach you the rest.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Review AI-generated drafts for tone, clarity, structure, and readability — and make them sound like a real person wrote them
- Strengthen blog post conclusions, add missing sections to landing pages, and sharpen calls-to-action that fall flat
- Edit Google Business posts, press releases, service pages, and blog articles across multiple industries and brand voices
- Catch templated, lifeless language that slips through automation and replace it with writing that actually lands
- Ensure content meets basic on-page SEO standards: proper heading hierarchy, natural keyword integration, and internal linking opportunities
- Flag structural issues in longer-form content (not just line edits) and propose improvements before anything ships
- Sometimes, you have to write content from scratch.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Must Have
- Strong copywriting and editorial instincts - this is the job
- Proven experience writing and editing blog posts, landing pages, or web copy
- Comfort editing AI-generated drafts without becoming dependent on them
- Excellent command of English grammar and style
- A genuine intolerance for weak, templated, or hollow writing
- Working knowledge of on-page SEO basics (headings, keywords, interlinks)

Nice to Have
- Experience with Google Business Profile content
- Multi-industry writing background
- Familiarity with press release conventions
- Previous work in an agency or content ops environment

You'll Thrive Here If...

- You can tell the difference between content that's technically correct and content that's actually good
- You take ownership. If it ships under your review, it reflects your standard
- You find templated AI output incomplete and frustrating, not convenient

Work Setup

Work is fully asynchronous, but the nature of the pipeline means most content will be ready for review in the evening. Expect your active window to fall around 5:00–9:00 PM on working days, since that's when the team wraps output. If you're a night owl or just prefer evening work, this fits naturally.

CONTENT TYPES YOU WILL HANDLE

Blog posts, Service & location landing pages, Google Business posts, Press releases, Supporting web copy

TO APPLY:

- Send a short note about your editorial background along with writing samples.
- Write an interesting, eye-catching subject line - I'll ignore you if you write something generic.
