Claude Code Specialist

About the Role
Not someone testing it. An expert. You’ve built tools, automations and more. We're seeking an exceptional Claude Code Expert to join our team as a full-time contractor. You'll be our go-to expert for building AI-powered automation tools, client-facing applications, and internal dashboards using Claude Code. Your primary focus will be mastering Claude Code to create solutions that solve SEO workflow challenges, automate repetitive tasks, and deliver new capabilities to our clients.
This is a unique opportunity to be an early adopter of Claude Code, working on cutting-edge projects at the intersection of AI and SEO. While SEO knowledge is a bonus, we're primarily looking for a skilled developer who's excited about Claude Code and willing to learn SEO as you build solutions.

What You'll Do

Core: Claude Code Development & AI Automation
Build AI-powered SEO tools and dashboards using Claude Code that solve real client problems
Create client-facing applications that leverage Claude's capabilities to automate SEO tasks (keyword research, content optimization, backlink analysis, local SEO insights, etc.)
Develop internal Makarios Marketing tools to streamline our processes (client reporting dashboards, link prospecting tools, citation audits, SEO analytics aggregators, etc.)
Automate SEO workflows using Claude Code to handle repetitive tasks like data processing, content analysis, competitive research, and performance tracking
Write clean, maintainable code that other developers (and clients) can understand and build upon
Optimize Claude Code applications for performance, user experience, and accuracy
Test and iterate on applications to ensure they deliver real value and work as intended
Document your builds clearly so clients and tea ---------- mbers can understand what you've created and how to use it

Secondary: SEO Knowledge Application
Learn SEO fundamentals as you build from our team (local SEO, backlinks, on-page optimization, technical SEO, etc.)
Understand the SEO problems you're solving so you can build better, more relevant solutions
Collaborate with our Head of SEO and team to understand client needs and translate them into automation opportunities
Suggest new tool/automation ideas based on SEO gaps you identify
Support the team in understanding what's possible with Claude Code for SEO workflows

Tertiary: Leadership & Project Ownership
Lead buildouts from concept to delivery, managing your own timeline and deliverables
Communicate progress clearly with the Makarios Marketing team
Manage client expectations around timelines and capabilities
Be the expert voice on what's possible with Claude Code and when we should use it

Required Qualifications & Experience

Claude Code & Development
Solid programming foundation (JavaScript, Python, or similar languages)
Active experience building with Claude Code (since its release - even if only a few months)
Demonstrated ability to create functional AI-powered applications - portfolio showing Claude Code projects you've built
Understanding of APIs and how to integrate AI into applications
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug and iterate
Experience with full-stack development OR strong specialization in either frontend or backend (you don't need to be expert in both, but you need to be solid in at least one)

SEO Knowledge (Bonus, but valuable)
Any experience with local SEO, backlink analysis, on-page optimization, or SEO tools
Understanding of what makes good SEO (even if you haven't built it professionally)
Curiosity about SEO and willingness to learn as you build

Compensation & Terms
Compensation: $800-$1,200/month (based on experience and portfolio quality)
