JOB OVERVIEW

Hi! I’m Kyle, the founder of Learn Your CNC, an online training business that teaches people how to design and create projects using CNC machines and software like Vectric.

We’re growing and looking for a smart, proactive, and detail-oriented tea ---------- mber to help with customer support, operations, and creative tasks.

This is NOT a typical VA role, we’re looking for someone who can think, solve problems, and take ownership.

Details
-Starting out part-time (~4 hours/day) with a probation period of 90 days
-Transition to full-time for the right candidate
-Long-term position
-Competitive pay based on experience

What You’ll Be Doing

This role is a mix of:
-Responding to customer emails (CNC/design-related questions)
-Helping troubleshoot basic CNC/software issues
-Admin / operations tasks
-Assisting with creative work (content, visuals, ideas)

What We’re Looking For

Required:
-Strong written English (friendly, clear, conversational)
-Experience with CNC, CAD/CAM, 3D modeling or graphic design software
(Vectric, Aspire, VCarve, Fusion 360, SketchUp, Illustrator, SolidWorks, etc.)
-Good problem-solving skills (can think through issues, not just follow instructions)
-Comfortable using AI tools like ChatGPT to improve your work
-Reliable, responsive, and detail-oriented

Huge Plus:
-Experience with Vectric software (Aspire or VCarve)
-SketchUp experience
-Graphic design or content creation skills
-Experience with customer support or email handling

How You Should Work

After your initial training, when you don’t know something, we expect you to:
-Be proactive to try and solve it yourself
-Check past examples or resources
-Use AI tools
-Come with possible solutions (not just questions)

This Role Is NOT For You If:
-You repeat the same mistakes
-You need constant supervision
-You wait for instructions instead of taking initiative
-You don’t pay attention to details

How to Apply (IMPORTANT)

To apply, please answer the following:
1. What CNC or design software have you used, and what kind of projects have you worked on?
2. Do you use AI tools like ChatGPT? If yes, how do you use them in your work?
3. How would you respond to this customer message:
“Hi, I’m trying to carve a sign but the letters don’t look centered when it cuts. The design looks centered on the screen though.”
(No need for a perfect answer — just show how you would think through it.)

ALSO, include this as your subject line when applying: “CNC Problem Solver”

If you’re someone who enjoys solving problems, learning new things, and taking ownership of your work, we’d love to hear from you.

– Kyle
