CAD

We are seeking a skilled Drone Design Engineer with strong CAD proficiency and hands-on drone design experience to join our team on a short-term contract basis. In this role, you will develop new small drone designs and modify existing platforms to meet evolving project requirements. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated engineer to make an immediate impact—with strong potential for the contract to convert into a long-term position based on performance.

Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop new small drone (sUAS) platforms from concept through detailed CAD modeling and production-ready documentation.
• Modify and improve existing drone designs to enhance performance, manufacturability, and reliability.
• Create and maintain detailed 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings using industry-standard CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360, CATIA, or equivalent).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including firmware, electronics, and operations to ensure design feasibility and integration.
• Select and specify appropriate drone components including motors, ESCs, flight controllers, propellers, frames, and battery systems.
• Conduct design reviews and iterate based on testing feedback, weight/balance analysis, and flight performance data.



• Demonstrated experience in CAD-based mechanical or product design, with a portfolio or work samples showcasing drone or small unmanned aircraft projects.
• Proficiency in one or more professional CAD tools
• Understanding of drone aerodynamics, structural design, and materials selection for lightweight airframes.
• Ability to work independently, manage timelines, and deliver quality results within a fast-paced contract environment.


• knowledge of quadcopter components and subsystems: motors, ESCs, flight controllers (e.g., Pixhawk, Betaflight FC), propellers, GPS modules, FPV systems, and battery/power distribution.
