Job Title: Full-Time Catch-Up & Clean-Up Bookkeeper / Accountant

Location: Remote Only

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced, detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Accountant specializing in catch-up and clean-up work and payroll restoration. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in organizing messy books, identifying discrepancies, and bringing financial records up to date with accuracy and efficiency. The ideal candidate has strong QuickBooks Online expertise, deep knowledge of U.S. accounting and payroll processes, and is confident communicating directly with clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform catch-up and clean-up bookkeeping for multiple clients across various industries
Review, reconcile, and correct historical financial records
Identify and resolve discrepancies, misclassifications, and incomplete data
Perform bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations
Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledgers
Prepare and adjust journal entries as needed
Communicate directly with clients to request missing documents and clarify transactions
Follow up with clients in a timely and professional manner to keep projects moving
Process payroll and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
Prepare and file quarterly payroll tax returns (IRS Form 941)
Ensure financial records are audit-ready and compliant with GAAP standards
Collaborate with internal tea ---------- mbers to ensure consistency and quality across accounts

Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable):

Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience
Minimum 3 years of catch-up and clean-up experience
Minimum 3 years of QuickBooks Online experience
QuickBooks Online Level 1 & Level 2 Certification or QBO + QBO Advanced Certification
Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll processing
Proven experience preparing and filing IRS Form 941 (quarterly payroll tax returns)
Fluent in English with excellent written communication skills
Willing and able to work U.S. (American) business hours
Prior experience working directly with clients
Comfortable proactively reaching out to clients for documents, clarifications, and follow-ups
