Bluemount Backoffice Solutions is an accounting and financial admin firm based in Canada. We strive to serve clients from different industries including professional services, healthcare, manufacturing, construction, restaurant, retail, automotive, etc. Our growing organization is seeking an experienced, part-time independent contractor, Bookkeeper/Accounting Technician. The ideal candidate will have prior extensive experience in a bookkeeping role and proficient use of QuickBooks Online. The responsibilities for this position include managing day-to-day data entry, bookkeeping, and accounting processes, including A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries, and bank and credit card reconciliations in QuickBooks Online. We are looking for an individual with financial management experience, an eye for detail and an ability to effectively prioritize tasks. Our goal is to provide excellent accounting and financial admin services to all our clients.

Work schedule: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 6 PM to 10 PM, US Pacific Time.

Responsibilities and duties
• Manage all day-to-day data entry, bookkeeping, and accounting processes, including A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries, and bank and credit card reconciliations in QuickBooks Online.
• Generate accurate monthly financial reports for financial reporting, including income statements, cash flow statements, and balance sheets using QuickBooks Online.
• Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including deductions, benefits, and taxes, while complying with federal and state regulations.
• Maintain an orderly financial filing system and ensure the confidentiality and security of all files.
• Prepare and submit VAT/sales tax returns and other statutory filings.
• Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasts, providing insights into financial health and performance.
• Coordinate with external auditors and provide required information for annual audits.
• Stay current with QuickBooks Online updates, features, and best practices – and recommend improvements to internal accounting processes.

Skills and qualifications
Required skills and experience
• Proven experience as a bookkeeper or similar role, specifically using QuickBooks Online (2+ years’ experience)
• Strong understanding of basic and advanced accounting principles and financial reporting applicable in various business settings.
• Ability to analyze financial data and generate reports using QuickBooks Online
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online customization to tailor settings and features to improve bookkeeping workflow and meet a company's specific accounting needs, including setting up industry-specific charts of accounts
• Integrating QuickBooks Online with other software (e.g. Excel) and financial management tools and systems for streamlined operations
• Accuracy in entering financial data and reconciling accounts to help ensure integrity
• Proficiency in advanced data import/export techniques in QuickBooks Online to help ensure efficiency and accuracy
• Excellent attention to detail for ensuring accuracy in financial records and reports
• Strong organizational skills and problem-solving ability in identifying discrepancies in financial data and resolving issues efficiently
• Effective communication skills for explaining complex financial information to non-finance personnel and capable of working collaboratively with teaUpgrade to see actual infombers
• Efficient time management for managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines
• Desire to stay updated on the latest QuickBooks Online features and standards

Preferred skills and experience
• QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification
• Experience in payroll processing and tax filing within QuickBooks Online
• Proficiency in setting up automated billing and subscription management in QuickBooks Online is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• Fast and reliable internet connection and personal computer capable to connect remotely are required
