JOB OVERVIEW

As a Publishing Project Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end book production process to ensure smooth, timely, and professional delivery of both print and digital titles. You will collaborate closely with editors, designers, and writers to bridge the gap between content creation and final publication.

Please write jamie at the top of the cover letter or your application will be rejected.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the publishing workflow from post-editing to final file delivery, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are consistently met.
• Review and format manuscripts after editorial review, verifying they meet layout and design specifications for KDP and other publishing platforms. Need to understand the epub formats.
• Edit canva files, word docs, to make sure they're formatted correctly for publishing
• Download and manage cover templates from KDP, Ingram, etc and accurately check trim sizes and page counts for different formats.
• Coordinate with cover designers, providing clear creative direction and ensuring output matched the writer's vision across paperback, hardcover, and ebook formats.
• Coordinate with graphic designers, carefully reviewing each image from the graphic designer to make sure that they look correct and in line with the writer's requested image and ask the graphic designer to make changes when necessary. In other words, the images need to actually match the graphic requests from the writer
• Performed final quality checks on all files before upload, ensuring print-ready files met platform requirements and industry standards.
• Keep track of all book changes and record updates on the book spreadsheet so the team can see at a high level what's happening

In your cover letter, please outline any similar experience you've had.

Question:
Imagine a manuscript is 158 pages long and the cover designer sent you a file based on a 150-page template. What steps would you take before publishing the book?
