Company: 110 Street / Book Boys
Role: Book E-Commerce Operations Manager
Type: Remote
Schedule: Part-Time to Full-Time
Pay: Based on experience
Experience Required: Must have direct experience with used book inventory, Amazon books, repricers, and multichannel selling
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced book e-commerce operator who already understands the used book business and can help manage our online book inventory across multiple sales channels.
This is not a beginner VA role.
We are not looking for someone who needs to be trained from scratch on how book inventory works, how Amazon book listings work, how repricers work, or how multichannel inventory software works.
We need someone who has already worked with online book sellers, used book operations, textbook sellers, Amazon books, or multichannel book inventory systems.
The right person should understand how to manage inventory across platforms like:
Amazon
eBay
AbeBooks
Shopify
Other book marketplaces
You should also be familiar with inventory management tools, repricers, bulk uploads, SKU management, condition management, and keeping listings accurate across multiple platforms.
Main Responsibilities
You will help operate and manage our online book inventory system.
Responsibilities may include:
Managing book inventory across Amazon, eBay, AbeBooks, Shopify, and other platforms
Using book inventory management software such as Monsoon, go2lister, cash monkey, repricers, book mine or similar tools
Uploading inventory files and bulk sheets
Managing repricer uploads and repricer settings
Making sure inventory stays properly repriced
Preventing overselling across multiple marketplaces
Keeping inventory synced across sales channels
Troubleshooting stranded inventory, price errors, listing errors, and inactive listings
Managing SKU data and inventory files
Updating quantity, price, condition, and listing status
Helping launch our Shopify book store
Helping move existing Amazon inventory onto other sales channels
Monitoring sales, cancellations, returns, and inventory issues
Creating standard operating procedures for recurring tasks
Reporting problems clearly before they become expensive mistakes
Required Experience
You must have experience with at least some of the following:
Selling books online
Amazon book inventory management
Used book or textbook e-commerce operations
Amazon Seller Central
eBay book listings
AbeBooks inventory management
Shopify product uploads
Monsoon, Neatoscan, SellerCloud, Sellbrite, InventoryLab, AccelerList, Go2Lister, or similar inventory tools
Repricing tools
Bulk upload files
CSV inventory uploads
SKU management
Multichannel inventory syncing
Preventing overselling
Fixing listing errors and price errors
Experience with Monsoon is highly preferred.
Experience managing Amazon-to-Amazon book flips or book arbitrage is a major plus.
What We Are NOT Looking For
Please do not apply if:
You have never managed book inventory before
You only have general e-commerce experience
You need us to teach you how Amazon book listings work
You have never used repricers
You have never worked with bulk inventory files
You only know basic Shopify product uploading
You cannot prove your previous experience
You are not detail-oriented
This role requires someone who can come in and help improve the system, not someone who needs every step built for them from zero.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal person has worked for a book seller, textbook seller, Amazon used book seller, or multichannel e-commerce book operation before.
You should be able to look at our current setup and help us answer:
What software should we use to manage Amazon, eBay, AbeBooks, and Shopify?
How do we keep inventory synced across all channels?
How do we prevent books from overselling?
How do we bulk upload inventory correctly?
How do we keep repricing active and accurate?
How do we fix inactive, stranded, or pricing-error inventory?
How do we build a repeatable system for listing new books?
How do we scale without creating inventory chaos?
Proof Required Before Hiring
Before being hired, you must show proof that you have experience in this exact type of work.
Please include:
What book businesses you have worked with before
What marketplaces you managed
What inventory software you used
What repricing tools you used
How many SKUs or books you helped manage
Whether you managed Amazon, eBay, AbeBooks, Shopify, or other marketplaces
Examples of bulk uploads, inventory files, repricer files, or SOPs you worked with
Any screenshots, reports, or proof of previous work
Specific problems you solved in previous book operations
Your recommended software stack for our situation
Applications without specific book experience will not be considered.
Test Assignment
As part of the hiring process, we may ask you to complete a short test to prove your experience.
This may include:
Reviewing a sample inventory upload file
Explaining how you would sync Amazon inventory to eBay, AbeBooks, and Shopify
Explaining how you would prevent overselling
Identifying errors in a repricer upload sheet
Recommending the best inventory management software for a used book operation
Explaining how you would structure SKUs
Explaining how you would manage condition notes across platforms
We are looking for someone who already understands the mechanics.
