About the Role
We’re looking for a BI Data Engineer to own the end-to-end data journey; from raw data ingestion through to delivering clear, actionable insights.
This is a hybrid role combining data engineering and business intelligence, where you’ll play a critical part in building reliable data pipelines and translating complex data into meaningful commercial insights.
You’ll work closely with stakeholders across retail, e-commerce, and finance to ensure data is accurate, accessible, and driving real business impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Engineering & Architecture
- Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines
- Manage and optimise data infrastructure (Azure environment preferred)
- Develop and maintain data models to support reporting needs
- Monitor data pipelines, troubleshoot issues, and ensure reliability
- Improve performance, data quality, and system efficiency
- Reporting & Business Intelligence
- Develop and maintain Power BI reports and data models
- Translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights
- Partner with stakeholders to define reporting requirements
- Ensure accuracy of key metrics across sales, inventory, and financial reporting
- Support ongoing enhancements to reporting and analytics capabilities
About You
You’re a technically strong data professional who also understands the commercial impact of data.
You will bring:
- Strong SQL expertise (complex queries, data transformation)
- Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure Synapse)
- Solid understanding of data warehousing and ETL/ELT processes
- Experience building or maintaining data pipelines and models
- Experience with Power BI
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Highly regarded:
- Experience with Databricks
- Experience working with retail or e-commerce data
- Familiarity with platforms such as Shopify, Cin7, or similar systems
