tera RMM Specialist / MSP Monitoring Engineer (Proactive IT Operations)
Job Overview
We are a growing Managed IT Services company based in the U.S., and we are looking for a highly skilled Atera RMM Specialist to manage and optimize our monitoring environment.
This is a part-time role (20–30 hours/week) with potential to grow into a long-term position.
This is not a basic helpdesk role. We are specifically looking for someone who has deep hands-on experience with Atera and understands how to use it to proactively manage client environments.
What This Role Is About
You will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and improving our Atera RMM platform across multiple clients.
This includes configuring alerts, managing patching policies, improving automation, and ensuring best practices are followed across all endpoints.
You should be comfortable identifying inefficiencies, reducing alert noise, and proactively improving how the system operates.
Key Responsibilities
Atera RMM Management (Primary Responsibility)
Configure and optimize Atera monitoring policies
Manage and improve alert thresholds and system health monitoring
Monitor and maintain patch management policies across endpoints
Identify and reduce false positives and alert noise
Create, modify, or run scripts for automation and deployments
Ensure all endpoints are properly monitored and compliant
Assist with onboarding new client environments into Atera
Proactive Monitoring
Perform daily and weekly system checks
Identify issues before users report them
Maintain visibility across all managed devices
Ticket and Support (Secondary Responsibility)
Assist with ticket management as needed
Document actions and maintain clear notes
Support basic troubleshooting when required
Documentation and Process
Maintain internal documentation and notes
Help improve SOPs and monitoring workflows
Provide recommendations to improve system performance and efficiency
Requirements (Important)
Must-Have:
Strong hands-on experience with Atera (not just basic usage)
Previous experience working in an MSP environment
Experience managing multiple client environments
Strong understanding of:
Windows systems
Microsoft 365
Basic networking
Experience with RMM tools, monitoring systems, and automation
Excellent written English
Strong attention to detail
Nice to Have:
Experience with scripting or automation
Experience with Active Directory and Azure / Entra ID
Experience with VoIP or networking systems
