About
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the monthly financial statements according to scheduled monthly close
- Responsible for maintaining all procedures and controls related to the company’s financial
accounts, for multiple Marine dealerships
- Supervise the work of accounting clerks, bookkeepers and accountants on the Marine
accounting team
- Provide insight and guidance to accounting staff regarding accounting reconciliations,
cash flow questions, and transactional research
- Assist with supplemental reporting and information requests, including budgets,
projections, forecasts, lender requests, and annual reports
- Oversee all daily, weekly and monthly accounting activities in order to ensure the
accuracy and timeliness of financial statements and financial reporting
- Monitor the design and effectiveness of internal controls, the scope of which will include
financial reporting, the use of accounting and dealership software, and physical assets
- Review and recommend improvements to accounting processes and workflows to ensure
maximum efficiency and accuracy of information
- Develop a strong understanding of the software systems, including front-end transactional
workflows and dealership requirements in order to recommend a best practice approach to
processes and workflows for both the dealerships and accounting, including how to create
and modify divisional financial statements
- Provide assistance and support to dealership personnel in areas such as accounts
payable, accounts receivable, cash flows, deal closing and funding, transactional inquiries,
and actively work to provide useful information and reports to dealership management
- Assist and provide insight and guidance with compliance activities and reporting, such as sales tax filings, payroll tax questions, dealership license applications/renewals, and vendor applications
- Actively assist with annual Review, External Audit, or tax preparation engagements, to
ensure adherence to the budget and schedule for those engagements
- Be a positive team leader in other areas, providing assistance and support when needed
- Special projects as requested
Job Requirements:
- Must be a CPA and have 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience leading and directing accounting staff
- Motivated individual to assist with our company’s growth and meets expectations
- Attention to detail with advanced decision and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications with extensive knowledge in Word and Excel
- Proficient in Google products
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills to meet goals and set priorities
