Animator - Traditional Character-Based Animation

We are looking for a talented Animator to join our creative team and help bring character-driven stories to life. This is a general animation role suited for someone who is comfortable working across multiple stages of the animation pipeline, from early storyboards to final edited scenes.

The ideal candidate has strong instincts for character acting, timing, movement, visual storytelling, and emotional expression. You should be able to take a scene from concept to completion while maintaining quality, consistency, and charm throughout the process.

Responsibilities

- Create traditional, character-based animations with strong acting, posing, timing, and appeal
- Develop and refine storyboards, animatics, and scene layouts
- Animate characters, props, and scene elements according to the project’s visual style
- Assist with compositing, scene assembly, and final visual polish
- Perform quality control to ensure consistency across animation, characters, backgrounds, timing, and overall presentation
- Edit video sequences and support post-production workflows
- Add or coordinate basic sound design, music, effects, and timing adjustments where needed
- Collaborate with directors, designers, illustrators, and other tea ---------- mbers to improve story flow and visual clarity
- Revise animations based on feedback while maintaining production deadlines
- Help maintain a consistent style, tone, and quality across all animated content

Requirements

- Strong understanding of traditional character animation principles
- Experience with storyboarding, animation, compositing, video editing, and basic sound design
- Good sense of character acting, facial expression, movement, timing, and staging
- Ability to work from scripts, briefs, storyboards, and creative direction
- Comfortable handling multiple parts of the animation pipeline
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform quality control on your own work
- Ability to take feedback well and make revisions efficiently
- Reliable communication and ability to meet deadlines
- A portfolio or reel showing character-based animation work is required

Nice to Have

- Experience creating animations for children’s content, YouTube, social media, short films, or branded storytelling
- Ability to work in a hand-drawn, 2D, frame-by-frame, or traditional-inspired animation style
- Familiarity with tools such as Toon Boom, Adobe Animate, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, TVPaint, Blender, or similar software
- Basic illustration, character design, or background layout skills
