We are seeking a highly capable research assistant to support acquisition sourcing, broker outreach and pipeline management.
This is not an admin role. We need someone who can work independently, communicate professionally with brokers and manage the process with discretion and attention to detail.
This is a long-term opportunity for the right person, with scope to grow as the role develops.
Responsibilities
- Research broker sites, marketplaces and directories to identify acquisition opportunities that fit our criteria
- Contact brokers to request IMs and follow up when needed
- Maintain an accurate pipeline in spreadsheets or CRM
- Filter out weak opportunities and escalate only relevant deals
- Provide short summaries of stronger opportunities
- Over time, help summarise IMs and extract key data
What we're looking for:
- Strong research skills and good judgment
- Confident written English and a professional tone
- Persistent, organised and detail-oriented
- Proactive and able to work with minimal hand-holding
- Commercially aware and discreet
Ideal experience
- Acquisition sourcing, business brokerage, lead generation or market research
- Comfortable reviewing basic financial information
- Experience with spreadsheets or structured tracking systems
Growth opportunity
If you perform well, the role can grow into deal analysis, including summarising IMs, extracting key data, spotting risks and comparing opportunities.
Not suitable for:
- Routine admin-only candidates
- People who need constant direction
- Anyone uncomfortable with broker follow-up
- Candidates who want a passive support role
Pay and process
This is a paid role at a higher rate for the right person, reflecting the level of ownership expected.
How to apply
Please send a brief cover letter including:
- Your experience with research, sourcing or lead generation
- An example of how you manage ongoing work
- Why this role is a good fit for you
Please start your application with “ACQUISITION”.
Shortlisted candidates will complete a paid 30–60 minute research task as part of the interview process.
